Lift installation, repair, servicing and maintenance.

Stafford Court

The Problem

The lift at this St. Leonards-based residential block was extremely unreliable, regularly breaking down at inconvenient times. Sadly, the previous building owners had not invested in the lift, and original parts were no longer available. Another lift company had attended and could not identify the fault, so they shut it down, quoting for an expensive full controller modernisation as the only option. Having no functional lift meant residents struggled to access their homes.

The Approach

We initially contacted the manufacturer to get the original electrical drawings, but the records no longer existed, meaning that we had no means of identifying the issue. However, where the previous company simply turned off the lift and said they would return when the owner the funds for the modernisation, we quickly established that the lift could be kept lift running safely by modifying the controller door circuits using relays and timers.

The Outcome

The client has not had to make a single call-out since the repair, and we are thrilled to give the owner the space and time they need to plan for future modernisation.

Customer Comment

“We are very impressed with the service we received from Hiwire Lifts and their proactive approach to repairs and to keeping our lift running safely and reliably. Suggesting a staged approach to the lift upgrade, rather than immediately spending a large sum of money, is a game-changer for our business, meaning we have time to plan for necessary works in the coming years.”
